Residential Bulky Waste Collection Resumes Oct. 17 Collier County will resume residential bulky waste collections on Monday, Oct. 17. Regular household collection of garbage, recycling and yard waste has already resumed. Residents are asked to call (239) 252-2380 to arrange for bulky waste collection. Bulky waste items include non-hurricane debris appliances (stoves, dishwashers and refrigerators with doors removed to avoid entrapment of children), electronics and tires. Residents may safely dispose of batteries by taking them to any of the county’s Recycling Drop-Off Centers. There is no charge for battery disposal. The Recycling Drop-Off Centers are open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Collier County US 41 East Corridor Zoning Overlay Project Community Meeting #2 Approaches The Collier County Planning & Zoning Division along with the county’s consultant, Johnson Engineering, will be presenting the zoning overlay draft for The US 41 East Corridor Zoning Overlay Project, a community-focused planning effort to create a zoning overlay along the corridor. The zoning overlay boundary begins on the east side of the Bayshore/Gateway Triangle Community Redevelopment Area boundary and extends east to Port of the Islands. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. at the South Regional Library located at 8065 Lely Cultural Parkway, Naples, Florida. The goal of the US 41 East Corridor Zoning Overlay Project is to prepare and implement a zoning overlay that reflects community input, promotes economic vitality, encourages a mix of land uses, and includes development standards, all to address the community’s needs as envisioned in the East Naples Community Development Plan. At Community Meeting #2 we will present: A draft of the zoning overlay Transportation considerations Focus area renderings that illustrate potential project designs at key locations along the corridor.
