A Message from the City of Marco Island, Chamber of Commerce, MICA, and MIAAOR: We know there has been a lot of information disseminated through social media about the status of Marco Island. The City of Marco Island, The Marco Island Chamber of Commerce along with Marco Island Civic Association and the Marco Island Area Association of Realtors want our residents and visitors to have a clear understanding of the status of our Island Paradise. 1. The Island is still in clean up mode, but overall, we are in good shape. Streets and parking lots are clear and most gas stations are open 2. Our businesses and most of our restaurants are up and running and ready to serve you. A few of our businesses are still without internet or phone service. Those without internet are working on a cash basis but still open to welcome you. 3. All beach access points are open except for Tiger Tail. Residents Beach and Sarazen Park are open for their members to enjoy. Collier County cautions entering the Gulf waters. They are in the process of making sure the water is clear of debris and bacteria. 4. If you have rental reservations, please contact your booking agent to confirm your condo/home or hotel is ready for your arrival. 5. Most hotels are open. For example, The Hilton Marco Island Resort and Spa is open, but the Marriott has a bit more clean up and will be open by 10/12 with limited amenities. Please call the hotels directly for updates. 6. Local religious organizations along with Our Daily Bread Food Panty and Al’s Pals Mobile Food Pantry are aiding with food, clothing and cleaning supplies. Check the Al’s Pals, Chamber of Commerce, and City Hall Facebook pages for locations and distribution dates and times. 7. Please be kind when visiting our businesses and restaurants. Our workers are also our neighbors who have lived through Hurricane Ian. Many of them lost vehicles, homes, and belongings. Be kind. Important Resources from the City of Marco Island 1. FEMA Assistance/Home Damage: Register online at https://www.disasterassistance.gov/ or download the FEMA app. For additional assistance call 800-621-3362. The NaplesDisaster Center is open at Veterans Community Park, 1895 Veterans Park Drive. The hours of operation are: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily until further notice. 2. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loans are available. Applicants may apply at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela/s/ under declaration #17644. You can also call 800-659-2955 orsend an email to [email protected]. There is a SBA Business Recovery Center at The Naples Players, 701 5th Ave. Open Tuesday – Saturday this week from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. 3. Storm Debris Collection: Debris collection began on Monday,October 3, and will continue until all debrisis picked up. Please separate storm debris into six categories you can find details here: https://www.cityofmarcoisland.com/emergency/page/hurricane-debris Once the contractor picks up your vegetative debris, your landscaper is responsible for any additional vegetative debris pick-up. Once a big pile is removed from your yard or swale, each homeowner is responsible for cleaning up smaller pieces left behind. Do not place any debris on vacant lots. 4. Electricity: Currently 569 customers on Marco Island are without power (as of 10-11- 22). Forsafety purposes, please turn-off appliances, boat dock power, and pool equipment prior to power restoration. If you have questions about your power, provide your address to the City and we will look into it (email [email protected]) 5. WiFi/Charging/Cooling: Mackle Park is open with A/C, charging, and free Wi-Fi available forresidents Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m., Sunday 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. 6. Legal Assistance: Free Legal Assistance is available for Florida Ian Survivors visit https://www.disasterlegalaid.org/ 7. South Florida-Red Cross: The Red Cross is working closely with our partners and local officials to ensure help is available when and where people need it most. You can find information on open Red Cross shelters on redcross.org,the free Red Cross Emergency app or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767). 8. Comcast Services: Comcast indicates services will be restored for Marco Island customers by October 15, 2022. 9.
