Naples Therapeutic Riding Center to Host 2nd Annual Reeling for Riders Fishing Tournament; Proceeds to Enhance and Expand Equine Therapy Naples, FL – Naples Therapeutic Riding Center (NTRC), a non-profit organization providing therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-facilitated group services to children and adults with physical, social and mental health needs, will host its 2nd Annual catch-and-release backwater fishing tournament, Reeling for Riders, on August 12-13, 2022. The fishing tournament brings anglers of all ages together for a fun (and competitive) day on the backwaters. The event kicks off Friday, August 12th with a captain’s meeting at Mangrove Outfitters Fly Shop (1949 Davis Blvd in Naples) at 6:00 pm. At least one member per team must attend to receive angler cards, official rulers, and tournament rules. Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served. The fishing tournament can take place anywhere on the water on Saturday, August 13th, 2022. Pictures must be turned in by 3:00 p.m. The tournament concludes that evening with an Awards Dinner and silent auction at Naples Therapeutic Riding Center (206 Ridge Drive in Naples) at 5:30 pm. Prizes will be awarded in three divisions (guided with license captain onboard, open, fly) to the individual with the largest catch of Redfish, Snook and Trout and a trashcan slam winner with the largest catch of Catfish, Ladyfish or Jack. The event is being cochaired by avid angler Christina Stoneburner Legutki, a realtor with Gulfcoast International Properties, and Jennifer Williams, NTRC’s Barn and Property Director. “I believe so much in what NTRC does for the community. I am excited to chair the fishing tournament this year because it gives me an opportunity to be participating with a much more hands on approach on the fundraising aspect,” said Christina. “I am honored for the opportunity to give back to NTRC while also getting to do what I love most…fishing!” Proceeds from the fishing tournament will be used to purchase adaptive equipment and tools to enhance equine therapy sessions. Not only will this provide participant enrichment and growth opportunities, it will also assist in their 16-herd therapy horses’ work-life longevity and comfort. The entry fee is $400 per boat/team. There is no limit to the number of anglers per boat. There are also a variety of sponsorship opportunities. To learn more or register, visit NTRC.org or e-mail [email protected].
