The Collier Building Industry Association (CBIA) and Lee Building Industry Association (LBIA) will present a continuing education course entitled “Medical Marijuana in Florida & Its Impact on Organizations” (Course #0613103 BSP, GEN) on Tuesday, September 10, 8:30a.m. – 10:00a.m. at Artichoke & Company, 11920 Saradrienne Lane, Bonita Springs. Sponsored by Gulfshore Insurance, the event features guest speakers Ashley Lupo of Rotezel & Andress, Pauline Miller of FCCI Insurance Group, and Dr. Greg Leach of Advanced Medical. Attendees will learn how to handle conflicts between state and federal marijuana laws; the effect of medical marijuana on the Americans with Disabilities Act; what employers should know regarding employment law and drug testing; how to enforce drug-free workplace policies; what OSHA regulations employers must remember; and, related liabilities as a business owner.
