Marco Island, March 5, 2019: - Marco Island Center for the Arts is pleased to announce trumpet and flugel horn player Bob Zottola, jazz pianist Roy Gerson, virtuoso jazz bassist Don Wilner, and songwriter and vocalist Corrine Manning will be performing Oscar winning songs on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm in the Lauritzen & Rush Galleries. The Oscars have handed out golden statuettes for classic songs over the years. Here are just a few of the memorable compositions that won the Academy Award for the Best Original Song: •“The Way You Look Tonight” •“Over the Rainbow” •“When You Wish Upon a Star” •“Moon River” •“Days of Wine and Roses” •“My Heart Will Go On” The award-winning songs will be performed by heralded musical artists. Bob Zottola worked with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Mel Torme and in a long list of NYC Broadway performances such as West Side Story and Les Miserables. Roy Gerson performed in jazz clubs in NY including Village Gate, Blue Note and Tavern on the Green. Don Wilner has a Doctorate in Music and was named “Best Jazz Musician” in Miami. Vocalist Corrine Manning performed with popular recording artist Harry Connick Jr. The ticket price is $25 for members of the Marco Island Center for the Arts and $30 for non-members.
