October 29, 2018 – FORT MYERS, FLA – Prospective college students can apply to Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) free-of-charge during Fee Waiver Week from Nov. 1-7. “During Fee Waiver Week we waive the charge for all prospective students, allowing them to take that first step in continuing their post-secondary education without the application fees being an obstacle,” said Amber McCown, FSW Director of Admissions. “For many students our affordable tuition and competitive programs are the right choice, so we hope they take advantage of this opportunity.” FSW offers a variety of career-focused academic programs, in disciplines such as Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Business Administration, and Public Safety, as well as the ability for students to transfer seamlessly to one of 13 Florida public universities with an Associates in Arts (AA) degree. Many FSW graduates already transfer to Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) to earn their bachelor’s degree, a number that will likely increase under the new “Destination FGCU” partnership between FSW and FGCU. Besides strengthening the relationship between both institutions, the program also allows FSW students access to FGCU academic advisors and career services to provide support in planning their education and employment pathway.
