NAPLES, Fla. – Oct. 11, 2018 – Naples waterfront restaurants, The Dock at Crayton Cove and Riverwalk at Tin City, are preparing for the start of stone crab claw season. Stone crab claws are anticipated to arrive at the restaurants in the evening on Oct. 15, the first day of season, and will be available as supplies last.
Stone crabs are the only renewable resource in the water as only one claw is taken from each caught crab and the crabs are then returned to the water. Both Riverwalk and The Dock source their claws locally from Gulf waters.
“The catch on opening day may be an indication of the season’s supply,” says Vin DePasquale, owner of The Dock and Riverwalk. “Weather conditions and other factors may give us more information about the Crab Claw season.”
Founded in the 1970s and still operated by Vin DePasquale, the restaurants are staples of the Naples community and loved by residents and visitors alike. Both celebrate the history of Naples and offer exquisite, Florida-style cuisine with the ambiance of the bay right at your table.
