Friday, August 3, through Sunday, August 5, 2018 Residents are reminded they can prepare for the new school year without paying sales taxes during the state’s Clothing and School Supplies Sales Tax Holiday, Friday, Aug. 3, through Sunday, Aug. 5. The holiday allows shoppers to avoid paying sales tax on items like clothes, bags, backpacks, and shoes costing up to $60 per item; and on school supplies like notebooks, paper, binders, composition books, pens, pencils, and crayons costing up to $15 per item. The sales tax holiday is part of House Bill 7087 passed by the Florida Senate and signed by Governor Scott in March. Find a complete list of sales tax exempt items here. ###
