NAPLES, Fla. (June 5, 2018) – Vi at Bentley Village, a continuing care community in North Naples, is now a Blue Zones Project Approved™ worksite. A recognition ceremony and ribbon cutting took place on May 31 at Vi at Bentley Village. “Vi at Bentley Village is dedicated to providing an atmosphere that is conducive to healthy living and aging. Our mission is to provide quality environments, services and programs to enrich the lives of older adults. Through our culture of caring, we aim to emphasize the importance of employees’ total well-being which is vital to the success of our business operations. The Blue Zones Project provides us an opportunity to enhance our company’s employee wellness brand vitality, and its many benefits to promote living well,” stated Penny Smith, Executive Director of Vi at Bentley Village. To become a Blue Zones Project Approved™ worksite, Vi at Bentley Village encouraged their staff to form walking groups and take advantage of the more than 12 miles of walking paths on site. In addition, they sponsored a co-ed softball league that competes weekly; hosted “Resident vs. Staff” Living Well competitions that including golf, team trivia, bocce and croquet; and initiated weekly standing meetings. They join more than 147 other area companies involved with Blue Zones Project, a community-by-community, well-being improvement initiative designed to support longer, better lives through permanent changes to environment, policy, and social networks. Principles are based on lifestyles in Blue Zones® areas, which are pockets of the world where people live longer with less chronic disease and higher quality of life.
