Marco Island, May 2, 2018: - Marco Island Center for the Arts exhibited the work of Collier County High School junior and senior aspiring artists from April 23-27, 2018, and each individual art piece was judged for its quality, technique and originality. The judges were professional artists Sandy Moore Howe, Emily James and Tara O’Neil. At the award ceremony on Friday evening the winners were announced: 2018 Scholarship Award Winners (Seniors) Marco Island Noon Time Rotary Award – 1st Place Scholarship - $1,000 – Lindsey Martinez, Palmetto Ridge High School, Art Teacher is Ms. Patti Wisniewski Art Center Award – 2nd Place Scholarship - $750 – Allison Wright, Naples High School, Art Teacher is Mrs. Chelon Perez-Benitoa Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce Award – 3rd Place Scholarship - $500 – Camila Carvajal, Barron Collier High School, Art Teacher is Ms. Paul Honorable Mention - $100 – Makayla Gardner, Naples High School, Art Teacher is Mrs. Donna Torrance Honorable Mention - $100 – Victoria Franklin, Barron Collier High School, Art Teacher is Ms. Paul Judges Choice Award - $50 – Olivia Clubley, Naples High School, Art Teacher is Mrs. Chelon Perez-Benitoa 2018 Merit Award Winners (Juniors) 1st Place Merit Award - $250 – Paige Conte, Naples High School, Art Teacher is Mrs. Chelon Perez-Benitoa 2nd Place Merit Award - $250 – Ana Santana, Golden Gate High School, Art Teacher is Ms. Jennifer Johannes 3rd Place Merit Award - $250 – Ashley Eda Fernandez, Golden Gate High School, Art Teacher is Ms. Jennifer Johannes Honorable Mention - $100 – Emma Mackenzie Snow, Marco Island Academy, Art Teacher is Mr. Robert Eder This scholarship program was established in 1983. Since then, over $200,000 has been given to eligible students. In 2018, the program awarded $3,350 among 10 winners from the 22 students who competed.
