Michelle Borders, of Naples Networks Services, has been named Chair of the Small Business Council for The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce. The council is part of the GNCC and provides feedback and guidance to the Chamber staff and Board on issues of importance to our small and medium business members (businesses with less than 50 employees). “The best part of participating in this council has been meeting other small business owners that share the same challenges. It’s great to compare notes, share what is working and what is not amongst many diverse local businesses in town,” Michelle explained. The SBC consists of 15 representatives from businesses with less than 50 employees. The Chairman of the SBC will be considered for inclusion in the Chamber Board of Directors. Michelle and her husband, Kevin, of 25 years have owned Naples Networks Services since 2004. They provide IT consulting and maintenance to small and medium companies in and around Collier County. Their son Jack joined them full time in 2016 and runs their company in Miami, Hurricane Development Studios. In June of 2013, they were recognized as Collier County Business of the Month by the Naples Chamber. Michelle is a current Naples Chamber Ambassador and has participated in both of their leadership programs – Growing Associates in Naples 2012 and Leadership Collier 2014. She has coordinated the Youth Leadership Collier Application Evaluators for the past 2 years. Michelle believes education is the key to a strong community and enjoys giving back as a mentor for Grace Place as well as Champions for Learning since 2012. She is currently supporting her 8th Mentee.
