Naples, Fla. (Aug 2, 2017) – The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Davina S. Hartsfield has joined The GNCC as the new part-time Internship Coordinator. She will focus on connecting high school and college students to internships, part-time jobs, job shadowing and work-based learning experiences. The Internship Coordinator will work closely with schools and employers to help double the number of internships currently available in Collier County. “One of our top public policy concentrations is workforce development. To that end, the Chamber is committed to contributing to the work of Future Ready Collier,” says Michael Dalby, President and CEO of The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce. “We felt that the natural role for us was to help students connect to work-based learning experiences. Davina’s position is totally focused on making those connections happen, serving as a resource both to students and employers, and helping us nurture the talent emerging from our schools and post-secondary institutions.” Prior to this role, Davina served as a Third-Grade Teacher for Parkside Elementary in Collier County. In 2014, she was elected as a Golden Apple nominee. The recognition and celebration event honors the teacher profession and the significant respect our community has for teachers. She enjoys working with students and is “excited to bring [her] passion for students’ lifelong success from the classroom to all Collier County students!” says Davina. Davina has also served as the Board President for Girls on the Run—Collier County. As Board President, she worked alongside the Executive Director to create and vote on budgets, timelines and policies that help the program function smoothly and efficiently. Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade, in which they teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. A native of Collier County, Davina graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Psychology from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She lives in Collier County with her husband, Taylor Hartsfield, who is a recent Growing Associates in Naples™ (GAIN™) graduate. ### About The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization of more than 1,600 active members that works to strengthen the local economy and promote the business community.
